Donate to Autism Treatment

Wyatt’s Storm Troopers a Fundraiser for Autism Treatment

"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle."

--A. Einstein

Our son Wyatt was diagnosed with regressive Autism Spectrum Disorder at 27 months of age. Wyatt began his life normally and developed as a typical infant and toddler, he had a vocabulary of 80 to 100 words, pretend play, social engagement, hilarious disposition, quite a spitfire, enjoyed playing his harmonica and pretend saxophone all the time, learning how to ride a tricycle, enjoying hiking, soccer. Within a week, it was all gone, he would not look at us, he did not play with any toys, he struggled with new digestive gut issues, he stopped eating healthy foods and became very picky with his diet. Worst of all, he lost all language, his last word was mama and then that too has disappeared. It was like a thief came and stole our vibrant boy.
Wyatt is now going to be 6 years old May 2010 and he is still non-verbal and severely disabled by his autism. We have been doing everything in our power to pull him out. Wyatt’s core personality is easygoing, happy, very loving and he remains a sweet and gentle soul. We adore and enjoy our son completely. We accept, appreciate and believe in the way he is. We also have hope that he can heal and speak to us again. His identical twin brother Jesse loves him with pure innocent devotion and his little brother Cody admires and adores his every move. They are his best friends and biggest advocates.
We have been involved in various treatments throughout the years and we have stuck with the ones that work for Wyatt such as Chinese herbal remedies, anti-fungal treatment, liver support (Bio-Ray), occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy and the solid gold treatment: applied behavioral analysis. There is a new treatment that is being proven to benefit children with autism.
We have contacted a very successful DAN doctor who specializes in hyperbaric oxygen therapy and will be leading us in the therapy this summer. For more information on this therapy, please visit http://www.cherishfoundation.org/~hbot1/hbot_autism.html
We need to ask for support from family, friends, concerned individuals, anyone to donate to this expensive therapy. The total cost is estimated to run $6000. Please donate: even a dollar can make a difference and can add up quickly.

Please forward and keep forwarding to everyone in your mailbox and then keep on going.

You can make donations by mailing to Kristin Hicks PO Box 990596 Redding, CA 96099-0596 or through a paypal account at https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=YG5EZH4TPD7G2
Thanks a million times and always have hope!!!
Dawson, Kristin, Jesse, Wyatt and Cody!

We are just a week and a half away from leaving to Sacramento for our treatment. I feel like we are following the yellow brick road to OZ. I am so overwhelmed with the support, love and peace that all our family and friends have shown us. This is a journey I am so glad I took. I was nervous about asking for money but decided I never wanted finances to prevent Wyatt from any great treatments. It is with this great power that comes from within us that drives us to miracles. I believe in the power of healing and I am so excited for Wyatt, Jesse and myself to embark on this journey together. We will keep you updated.........
